Sunrisers Hyderabad have taken a dig at Virat Kohli through a social media post after the former India captain refused to shake hands with SRH batter Travis Head after their match on Friday. While SRH defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 55 runs, it was Kohli ignoring Head during post-match handshakes that grabbed the headlines.

Kohli ignored Head due to their on-field altercations that began as early as the first innings. Looking to finish in the top two of the 2026 IPL points table, SRH's Travis Head gave his team a blistering start, scoring 26 off just 16 balls, but as he got out, former RCB captain Kohli was seen giving an aggressive send-off to the Australian batter.

SRH take dig at Kohli after Head banter

The banter continued in the second innings after SRH scored 255/4. Kohli was seen making gestures to Head while being at the non-striker end. It appeared that Kohli was egging Head to bowl a few overs, as he was not removed from the pitch for an impact player.

It's unclear what made Kohli so aggressive towards Head and forced him to continuously pick on Australia. Most likely, it may have something to do with past incidents.

Nonetheless, Head came onto bowl later in the match after Kohli was dismissed and picked the wicket of RCB captain Rajat Patidar.

Capitalising on the moment, SRH's social media team took a dig at Kohli as they shared a picture of Head after he dismissed Patidar.

"Came, bowled and walked away with a wicket," SRH wrote in the caption, seemingly taking a dig at Kohli for asking Head to bowl early in the match.

Nonetheless, RCB had the last laugh as they finished at the top of the 2026 IPL points table despite losing the match. They will face the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, while SRH failed to finish in the top two due to an inferior net run rate.
