RCB, GT, and SRH secure the top three spots respectively, with RCB and GT playing Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala on May 26. SRH will have to wait till Sunday afternoon to see who their opponent will be in the Eliminator.

RCB have sealed the top spot in the IPL 2026 table despite a late wicket of Rajat Patidar in the 18th over. RCB reached 185/4 after 19 overs, confirming they will finish the league stage at the top of the points table despite needing 71 runs in 6 balls and being in a losing position.

Rajat Patidar capitalised on multiple lapses to keep RCB in the hunt. Eshan Malinga conceded 11 runs and there was a dropped catch by Pat Cummins and a missed chance in the deep. The target seems impossible but they can still make 178 runs to keep themselves at the top of the table.

RCB face a complex equation in their chase against SRH, needing at least 116 runs to secure a top-two finish in the IPL 2026 points table. To stay at the top of the table, RCB must score 178 runs in total. If RCB score less than 178 runs but go past 166, Gujarat Titans will go on top and they will finish second, regardless of the result.

Krunal Pandya finished the over with a powerful boundary through extra cover to keep RCB in the hunt. SRH also lost their final review after an unsuccessful LBW appeal against Rajat Patidar. However, if they reach 166 runs, they will keep their top-2 spot intact regardless of the result.

Harshal Patel delivered another controlled over for SRH, conceding just six singles and not allowing the batters to find a boundary. Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya are trying to rebuild for RCB, who move to 100/3 after 10 overs and now need 156 runs from 60 balls.

Eshan Malinga has picked up another crucial wicket for SRH by dismissing Devdutt Padikkal for 21 off 14 balls. Padikkal tried to flick a full delivery towards the leg side but ended up finding Abhishek Sharma at deep midwicket. Krunal Pandya is now the new batter for RCB as the chase gets tougher for them.

Sakib Hussain has delivered a massive breakthrough for SRH by dismissing Virat Kohli for 15 off 11 balls. Kohli tried to attack a slower delivery through the off-side but ended up chipping it straight to Smaran at cover as RCB lost their second wicket in the powerplay.

Eshan Malinga has provided a huge breakthrough for SRH by dismissing Venkatesh Iyer for a blazing 44 off just 19 balls. Iyer tried to continue his aggressive approach but ended up holing out to Abhishek Sharma in the deep after a sensational cameo.

Yeah, it was a lovely innings. Struggled in the first couple of balls, but that one over just knocked the bat. Your score was 5 after 9 balls and then you took off. What suddenly made you do that? 5 off from 12 is a lot with under pressure in this format. The team is coming at 11-12, so I had to catch up very quickly. So it’s either get out or catch up with the right. Yeah, I felt the wicket was a little bit slow, so I just struggled to find that timing and I think I might have looked for too many up front and then once I found my balance, it was a little bit easier. Does that when you have a partner at the other end also in full flow, Ishan Kishan. He’s not put a foot wrong this season. Yeah, and obviously it will help very much if you can bat well in your partnership. I think we’ve done that incredibly well this season in the middle order. You mentioned the pitch was a little slow. You reckon it will slow up a bit more as the game progresses? I would hope so. I can’t see that it will get any better. These two tell us that it might slow up a little bit more.
