Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is set to return to the Delhi Capitals (DC) after two seasons at the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav headed the other way around in a blockbuster trade for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Multiple reports have confirmed that both the franchises have agreed to exchange their star players with the final approval to come from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

What will be Pant's price at DC?

Pant currently holds the record for being the highest paid player at the Indian Premier League. He broke all records when the Super Giants signed him for a whooping Rs 27 crore ahead of the IPL 2025. However, his performance at the Lucknow-based franchise has been way below expectations in both the seasons leading to the team making this big call.

He was earlier sacked from captaincy by LSG and reports state that he will not be in leadership role at DC as well.

The Capitals would have had to free up a substantial amount of their purse for Pant had he demanded the same salary. However, the wicket-keeper batter has reportedly left all the decision regarding his pay to the franchises involved.

Cricbuzz states that Pant's new salary could be somewhere around half his current price. This means that DC will have to pay around 13-15 crore to the wicket-keeper batter.

What will be Kuldeep Yadav's salary?

Kuldeep was retained by the Capitals for Rs 13.25 crore and was a vital cog in the team since 2022. The left-arm wrist spinner had a poor campaign this year and DC have decided to trade him to LSG.

Reports state that Kuldeep will receive the same salary at LSG as he did at DC, which is Rs 13.25 crore.

The trade brings both Pant and Kuldeep to the states for which they both play domestic cricket. Pant plays for Delhi while Kuldeep is an Uttar Pradesh star in domestic campaigns.
