After PSG fans in France, RCB supporters create chaos on Indian streets following IPL final

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's back-to-back IPL trophy wins unleashed chaos on the streets of Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh as fans erupted on the historic feat. RCB, who had not won a single IPL title since 2008, have now won the 2025 and 2026 editions.

RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. As Virat Kohli, captain Rajat Patidar and other teammates celebrate the victory in the stadium, fans took to the streets.

RCB has already confirmed that they will not be doing any open-top bus parade in Bengaluru due to the tragedy of last year, when 11 people lost their lives outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the stampede during celebrations.

RCB fans create chaos on streets

Nonetheless, RCB fans came out in big numbers on the streets to enjoy and cheer, but in a few places, it turned chaotic as they were seen damaging public property.

Videos from Hyderabad show RCB fans bursting crackers, bringing down barricades and celebrating while sitting on top of the cars. Police could also be seen taking action to control the unruly crowd.

In some of the videos, police personnel can be seen using batons to control the chaos.

Video from Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh also shows fans damaging a private bus.

The fans also converged in big numbers on the streets of Bengaluru, but the proceedings were largely controlled as police remained vigilant in order to avoid any major mishap.

The actions of unruly fans have enraged many on social media as they criticised the supporters.

The scenes after the RCB victory in many ways resembled what happened in Paris on Saturday night after PSG defeated Arsenal to win the Champions League. At least two people were killed and over 200 have been injured as celebrations in France turned violent.

Nearly 800 people have been arrested.
