RCB clarify open-bus victory parade rumours after historic title defence: 'Best way to celebrate is...'

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 after a lop-sided win over Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, May 31. On the same day, London's streets saw English Premier League champions Arsenal taking out an open bus parade to celebrate their team's historic victory.

RCB too achieved a historic victory, becoming only the third team in IPL history to win back-to-back titles. Just like Arsenal fans did in London, RCB supporters would have also wanted to fill up the streets of Bengaluru in anticipation of their beloved stars who gave them this moment of joy.

However, with dark memories of last year's mishaps still fresh, will an open bus parade of RCB take place in Bengaluru?

Will RCB take out open bus parade?

No. RCB will not celebrate the victory with fans on the roads. The franchise made it clear with a social media post following their win on Sunday.

"What a night. What a feeling. To every member of the RCB nation, congratulations. This is YOUR win. As the celebrations begin, let’s be responsible," the franchise posted on X after their victory.

"Best way to celebrate is with your loved ones. Relive the memories, and enjoy this special moment from the comfort of home," RCB added.

The franchise also confirmed that the team will not be coming to Bengaluru and their next meeting with the players will take place in the stadium next season. "We’ll see you in the stadium next year, 12th Man Army. Until then, spread the joy and keep supporting us," RCB concluded in its post.

The players will all depart for their next destinations from Ahmedabad only, putting end to speculations of a victory parade in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru-based franchise had organised a victory parade after winning their maiden IPL title last year. However, the celebrations turned sour as 11 people died in the stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the players were being felicitated. Keeping last year's mishap in mind, Bengaluru City Police had issued advisories to fans to celebrate the win with caution.
