Tonight's eliminator fixture becomes a do-or-die contest for both sides, as one team would march into Qualifier 2 while the other would head back home empty-handed. With RCB securing a spot in the final, three teams are now in contention to secure the second berth.

SRH did not have a fruitful start, but eventually settled midway through the league stage and did not look back. The Pat Cummins-led side picked up a five-match win streak, which helped them march into the top four with 18 points.

The Rajasthan Royals picked up four consecutive wins at the start in dominant fashion, but their failure to maintain a winning streak since then put their playoff hopes in peril. RR eventually secured the position in the final league-day drama after defeating MI by 30 runs on Sunday, May 24, and securing the fourth spot.
