GT vs RCB Highlights, IPL Final: Virat Kohli slams his fastest half-century ever and remains unbeaten on 75 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeat Gujarat Titans by five wickets with two overs to spare to win back-to-back Indian Premier League titles! Kohli slams a 25-ball fifty and shares an explosive 62-run opening stand with Venkatesh Iyer in the powerplay, laying the foundation for the successful chase in the final in Ahmedabad. Despite a stutter in the middle overs, Kohli's presence ensures the team gets over the line comfortably in the end, making them only the third team to win back-to-back titles after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. RCB had earlier restricted GT to 155/8 after electing to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Rasikh Salam Dar led the way for the defending champions with figures of 3/27 while Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/29) and Josh Hazlewood (2/37) collect a couple of wickets each, with Krunal Pandya (1/23) proving to be the most economical of the RCB attack. For the Titans, all-rounder Washington Sundar led the way with an unbeaten 50 off 37 deliveries, playing a key role in guiding his team past 150.

RCB vs GT Live Score: Another pause in proceedings, with Arshad appearing to struggle with cramps at the moment

Arshad goes down immediately after bowling the first ball of his final over, in which Jitesh helps himelf to a single. Will he able to complete his spell and sign off on a tidy note? RCB vs GT Live Score: VIrat Kohli narrowly survives a dismissal scare in the final delivery of the 16th over!

Kohli’s heroic knock appears to have come to an end after he chips the ball towards mid off, where Shubman Gill leaps forward to complete a fine catch. Except the RCB superstar thinks the GT captain might have grassed this, and pleads with the umpire to take this upstairs. It’s a contentious call, but the third umpire ultimately rules it in favour of Kohli, giving him the benefit of doubt. Gill had his fingers underneath the ball, but some part appears to be touching the ground. Kohli will be hoping to guide his team over the line from here despite his cramps. Just six off Arshad’s third over including a boundary to Kohli in the second over. RCB 145/5 in 16; need 11 off 24

RCB vs GT Live Score: Less than 20 needed for Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win back-to-back titles!

RCB vs GT Live Score: OUT! Arshad breaks the partnership as David departs for 24!

David helps himself to another boundary in the fourth delivery of Arshad’s second over, but is caught-behind in the final delivery. The umpire initially turns the appeal down, but the Titans, who have little to lose at this point, opt for the review right away. David then gets the marching orders after UltraEdge confirms a spike. RCB 132/5 in 14; need 24 off 36

May 31, 2026, 23:01:06 (IST)

RCB vs GT Live Score: Royal Challengers Bengaluru firmly on top in the final strategic timeout of the season!

RCB are 126/4 after 13 overs, needing just 30 more to win from 42 balls with six wickets in hand and a well-set opener at the crease! Kohli, who brought up his half-century in the previous over but is struggling to run between the wickets, safely negotiates Rashid’s third over with Tim David, who smashes the leg-spinner for a maximum over long on. Could have been a repeat of the Patidar dismissal, but the burly Australian got enough timing on the shot!

RCB vs GT Live Score: 100 comes up for RCB at the halfway stage!

Pressure back on GT now after Jason Holder concedes a couple of boundaries in his second over. Kohli flicks a poor delivery from the seam-bowling all-rounder towards the fine leg fence in the first delivery. New batter Tim David later opens his account with a pull towards the cow corner fence. Rashid’s twin strike brought GT back in the game, but they will need to keep getting wickets at regular intervals if they are to win the final. RCB 100/4 in 10; need 56 from 60

RCB vs GT Live Score: OUT! Two wickets in one over for Rashid Khan! Gujarat Titans are back in the game and how!

Rashid Khan is introduced for the first time after the first timeout out the RCB chase. RCB vs GT Live Score: FOUR! RCB continue to collect boundaries at regular intervals!

And now Patidar helps himself to a four an over after smacking Siraj for his first six. Another short delivery, this time from Jason Holder who is introduced for the first time in the eighth over, and the in-form RCB captain slaps this in front of square, guiding it towards the vacant cow corner fence. Ruins what was turning out to be an excellent first over from the West Indian all-rounder. RCB 88/2 after 8; need 68 off 72

May 31, 2026, 22:28:17 (IST)

RCB vs GT Live Score: SIX! First maximum for Rajat Patidar right after the powerplay!

Mohammed Siraj bowls out his quota of overs right away, with captain Shubman Gill hoping he’s able to get another wicket to keep their faint hopes alive. GT vs RCB LIVE Score, IPL Final: The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to be the witness to another iconic match as the Indian Premier 2026 final takes place once again at the world's largest cricket stadium with two contrasting forces colliding on Sunday, May 31 in what promises to be a mouth-watering title clash.

On one side are the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a team once trolled as perennial underachievers. That is all past now. Under Rajat Patidar's captaincy, the team arrives as defending champions, a tag that they have carried across superbly this season.

Across the divide stand Gujarat Titans (GT). They might not be as cool as RCB, but they are clinical. Unlike RCB, who had to wait for 18 years for their first title, GT got the taste of silverware in their maiden year in 2022. Now, they too are looking to add another title to their cabinet with Shubman Gill itching to prove his leadership credentials.

After 18 years of heartbreak, RCB finally tasted glory last year. This time, they seek to cement a dynasty by becoming only third team in IPL history to defend the title. GT, in their third final in five seasons, are aiming to redefine efficiency and take the trophy once again after falling short by a whisker in 2023 while defending their title.

Advantage RCB?

Ahead of the match, RCB skipper Patidar said that his team has an added advantage of having adequate rest before the big game. RCB last played on Tuesday, May 26, when they crushed the Titans in Qualifier 1 to get into the final directly.

GT had to go to Chandigarh from Dharamsala and play the second qualifier where they won against the Rajasthan Royals and sealed the ticket to final. However, their departure from Chandigarh got delayed due to bad weather, leaving the team exhausted and without any practice. This might be a disadvantage for the Gill-led side, but they also have something in their favour.

Ahmedabad is GT's home ground, and they have won four matches back-to-back at the venue. One of these wins also came against RCB and interestingly the final is being played on the same pitch as that game.

With both teams having something to gain from this game, expect a blockbuster clash as the two sides aim to lay their hands on the IPL trophy for the second time.

RCB vs GT Predicted Playing XIs

RCB have a big decision to make as Phil Salt has reportedly gained full fitness. Will the team tinker with winning combination or bring their explosive opener back? Meanwhile, GT are set to go with the same team.

RCB Predicted XII: Venkatesh Iyer, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Salam Dar, Jacob Duffy (IP)

GT Predicted XII: Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Arshad Khan/R Sai Kishore (IP)
