The IPL 2026 final is set to begin in a few minutes in Ahmedabad, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) in a blockbuster title clash.

The match will begin at 7:30 PM IST at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While RCB are aiming to successfully defend the trophy they won in 2025, Gujarat Titans are looking to lift their second IPL title after winning the tournament in their debut season in 2022.

Both teams finished the league stage with 18 points and occupied the top two spots in the standings. RCB finished as table-toppers thanks to a better Net Run Rate. The two sides had already met in Qualifier 1, where Rajat Patidar's RCB dominated Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Dharamsala to secure a direct place in the final. GT, however, bounced back strongly in Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals.

IPL 2026 prize money

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to continue with the same prize-money structure as last season.

Last year, champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru received a cash reward of Rs 20 crore, while runners-up Punjab Kings were awarded Rs 12.5 crore. The winner of Sunday's final is therefore expected to receive Rs 20 crore, while the losing finalist should take home Rs 12.5 crore.

Apart from the team awards, individual performers will also receive cash prizes. The winner of the Orange Cap will receive Rs 10 lakh. Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi currently leads the race with 776 runs. But Gill and Sudharsan could overtake him tonight.

Similarly, the Purple Cap winner will earn Rs 10 lakh. Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is currently leading the wicket charts with 28 wickets, but RCB's Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not far behind.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of IPL 2026 will also receive Rs 10 lakh, while the Emerging Player of the Season will be rewarded with Rs 10 lakh. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is in contention for both of those awards.
