The Rajasthan Royals put up a valiant fight in the first innings after sustaining early setbacks. From Ravindra Jajeda playing through the pain to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continuing his brilliance with a 47-ball 96 and Donovan Ferreira’s late blitz, RR put up 214/6 on the scoreboard.

But the Gujarat Titans’ start displayed intent and promise, with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan putting up a 167-run opening partnership. Gill smashed 104, while Sai smashed 58 before losing his wicket to a hit-wicket dismissal once again.

Rahul Tripathi wrapped up the chase with eight balls to spare, and Gujarat are now homebound for the summit clash against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

GT are ten runs away, with Brijesh bowling the penultimate over. Rahul Tripathi’s finisher instincts are in action after picking up two consecutive boundaries.

Jadeja brought in opens with a single, with Sau flicking it off the back foot. Sill then smashed a six off the second ball, hitting it over long-on.

Deshpande was brought in to bowl at the final powerplay over and opened with two singles. Sudharsan then hammered two consecutive boundaries with some elegant shots. Proper use of the powerplay by GT, as RR struggles for a breakthrough.

Brijesh introduced some pressure with his spell after bowling three dots in the over. A single and a double were conceded, and Gill managed to get a boundary after smashing a drive over extra cover. Proper muscle shot from the skipper.

Donovan Ferreira ran into the outfield, stopped, and looked up for the ball as he attempted the catch. But he barely got his fingers under it! MASSIVE CHANCE DROPPED THERE!!

Slip remains as Archer is back to bowl. A dot to start, followed by singles in the next two deliveries. Then the GT skipper smacked two consecutive boundaries, one pulled behind square and the other hammed straighe of mid-on.

Burger on the attack, a massive outswing in the first delivery that goes wide and races towards the boundary.

Donovan Ferreira has given RR a stunning finish by taking apart Rashid Khan in the final over and helping the team cross the 200-run mark. Ferreira hammered four sixes in the over, including three in a row, as the GT spinner completely lost control under pressure. RR finish at 214/6 in 20 overs.

RR are finishing strongly despite the big blow of losing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for 96. Donovan Ferreira has injected some momentum in the death overs with two important boundaries off Prasidh Krishna, helping RR move to 187/6 after 19 overs.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has once again missed out on a deserved century after falling for a stunning 96 off just 47 balls. The youngster tried to play another big shot but mistimed the short ball straight to Prasidh Krishna at deep third. It was heartbreakingly similar to his dismissal for 97 in the Eliminator against SRH. Sooryavanshi walked off to a standing ovation but looked visibly frustrated.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is closing in on a sensational century after tearing apart Washington Sundar in the 17th over. The teenage star smashed two massive sixes. RR are 171/5 after 17 overs.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is producing another stunning knock under pressure for RR in Qualifier 2. The left-hander smashed Jason Holder for two fours and a huge six in a 16-run over to race to 82 off just 43 balls. During the innings, Sooryavanshi also became the fastest Indian batter to complete 1000 IPL runs, achieving the milestone in barely two seasons. RR move to 154/5 after 16 overs. 

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showed great courage after taking a blow to the helmet, continuing to bat aggressively for RR after their middle-order collapse. He is playing a mature knock tonight after earlier completing his fifty off 31 balls, his slowest in the tournament. RR move to 138/5 after 15 overs, with Sooryavanshi batting on 66 and Jadeja on 36.

RR all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was forced to retire hurt earlier in the innings after aggravating his tennis elbow injury during his quickfire cameo against GT. Jadeja looked in discomfort while batting and eventually walked off. The same injury had earlier led to Jadeja being rested from India’s Test squad. He has since returned to the crease to help Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after RR suffered a middle over collapse.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi suffered a painful blow to the helmet while attempting to pull a sharp short ball from Kagiso Rabada, forcing the physios to come out for a concussion check.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has completed another half-century under pressure as RR continue to lose wickets around him. The 15-year-old reached his fifty off just 31 balls, marking his slowest IPL fifty so far. RR reach 120/5 in 13 overs, and there is a time-out.

Prasidh Krishna made a strong comeback by dismissing Jofra Archer soon after the batter smashed a huge six. RR lose their fifth wicket as GT bowlers are tightening their grip despite Vaibhav Sooryavanshi still holding one end.
