Two out-of-form teams, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), will clash on Monday, April 11 at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, which is set to host its first match of the Indian Premier League 2026 season. Both teams started the tournament on a strong note but have struggled recently.

PBKS spent almost the entirety of the first half of the tournament at the top of the table but have now slipped to the fourth spot with three back-to-back losses. Shreyas Iyer's bowlers have been leaking runs and in the past few games, the batting too has failed to fire. PBKS desperately need to turn around their form if they want to go back to the top of the table again.

DC's fall has been even sharper. Axar Patel and Co started the tournament well but have won just twice in their last nine games. The batting and bowling both have serious holes and the poor form of many of their star players is a massive cause of concern for the team. Their play-off chances are almost over and another loss will end even a mathematical possibility of finishing in the top four.

Dharamsala weather forecast

Thunderstorms with rain are predicted for the matchday in Dharamsala as per the Indian Meteorological Department. However, the chances of rain towards the evening are only around 15%.

While the other parts of India struggle with hot weather, Dharamsala, being a hilly town, will be relatively cooler. The temperature around the time of the match will be 17 degree Celsius. So, it will be a cool evening with clouds in the sky and rain could make a few appearances but the forecast says it will not be hard enough to spoil the game.

HPCA Stadium pitch report

Dharamsala has traditionally been a batting-friendly surface so expect a score well in excess of 200. However, fast bowlers also get help on this track with the new ball, making that phase key. With rain playing hide and seek, team winning the toss would like to bowl first to make use of the moisture in the wicket.
