The IPL's final league-stage matchday features a doubleheader on Sunday, with the Mumbai Indians hosting the Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the afternoon fixture, followed by KKR’s clash against DC at 07:30 PM IST in Kolkata.

On Saturday, Punjab Kings solidified their playoff bid with a massive seven‑wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants. Shreyas Iyer's valiant hundred and Prabhsimran Singh's fighting knock helped them climb into the top four and replace RR.

How does KKR qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs?

After PBKS’s victory, KKR’s hopes hinge on Mumbai defeating Rajasthan, as it would eliminate the Riyan Parag-led side. If Mumbai prevail, the Knight Riders must defeat the Delhi Capitals by a huge margin to improve their net run rate.

If the Ajinkya Rahane-led side posts 200, they would need to win by at least 77 runs, and if they score 225, the margin required drops slightly to 76.

If the Capitals batted first, Kolkata needs to complete the chase inside 12.4 overs. A win under these conditions would level them with PBKS on points, leaving NRR as the deciding factor.

What if RR emerged victorious in the afternoon fixture?

If RR defeated MI in the afternoon clash, they would finish the league stage with 16 points and lock down the fourth spot, ending KKR’s playoff aspirations. Even if Kolkata defeat Delhi, they would only reach 15 points, the same as Punjab Kings, but still fall short of qualification.
