Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's red-hot run leaves Pakistani analyst wondering if he's using 'AI chip in bat'

Such is the impact of Rajasthan Royals star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League that individuals on the other side of the border who call themselves experts of the game are wondering if the 15-year-old is using an "AI chip" in his bat.

Sooryavanshi has been in red-hot form ever since he made his IPL debut for the Royals last year, smashing a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans in just his third game. The southpaw has been on a record-breaking spree since then and had recently starred in India's triumphant U-19 World Cup campaign in Zimbabwe, where he smashed a breathtaking 175 in the final.

As for the ongoing season of the IPL, Sooryavanshi played a key role in helping the Royals begin the season on a promising note. The teenager currently finds himself second in the list of leading run-scorers with 357 runs in eight appearances at a staggering strike rate of 234.86.

'That doesn’t look human'

Sooryavanshi, who had smashed a 36-ball ton in his most recent outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad, has had the entire cricketing world raving about his exceptional ability with the bat for a year now. Pakistani cricket analyst Dr Nauman Niaz, however, made a unique observation when discussing the Bihar top-order batter's heroics.

"When Sooryavanshi smashed four sixes in the very first over against Praful Hinge, then what’s left in the powerplay? His strike rate is over 200," Niaz said on the 'Smash It' show on YouTube.

"I really wonder what that kid has been. I think people need to check him at this point. Just like how you go through the doping tests, he also needs to check if he used an AI chip in his bat. That doesn’t look human. He is unreal. What a player he is! His strike rate of around 200 gave me the thought that he played slowly. It should have been 300," he added.

Sooryavanshi praised for 'great wrist position, fine arc of bat swing'

Niaz, however, also heaped praise on Sooryavanshi's technique, especially his wrist position.

"When you turn in to 18 years, you body transforms. Your shoulder starts to open up. You build your triceps or biceps, and your core becomes strong.

"And Sooryavanshi is 16. When he was born, Virat Kohli was already a world champion. If you see Sooryavanshi, he has a great wrist position and a fine arc of his bat swing," he added.
