The BCCI has picked Suryansh Shedge as Nitish Kumar Reddy's replacement after the all-rounder was ruled out of the Ireland and England T20 series. India are to play a two-match T20 series against Ireland from 26 June before a five-match T20 series and three-game ODI assignment in England.

With Hardik Pandya still out due to an injury suffered in IPL 2026, Nitish Kumar Reddy was expected to play a crucial role during the white-ball tour of the UK. He is the only seam-bowling all-rounder in the ODI squad, and only the second in the T20 team.

But with Nitish Kumar Reddy now ruled out of the T20 series due to a quadriceps injury, Punjab Kings all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has been asked to replace him. Nitish may still return for ODIs in England.

Who is Suryansh Shedge?

The 23-year-old Suryansh Shedge, who bats right-handed and bowls medium-fast deliveries, plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket. After shining in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 title, Suryansh Shedge was picked by Punjab Kings for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction.
