Surya, Gambhir and ICC chief Jay Shah felicitated at CNBC TV18 India Business Leader Awards after T20 World Cup triumph

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir were felicitated along with International Cricket Council chairman Jay Shah at the CNBC TV18 India Business Leader Awards in Mumbai following the Men in Blue's historic triumph at the T20 World Cup at home soil recently.

Shah received the award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Sports', having served as BCCI secretary before heading the Dubai-based global governing body for the sport. Head coach Gambhir, on the other hand, was presented with the 'Excellence in Sports' award while Surya received the 'Sports Leader of the Year' award.

All three received their award from Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who was present on the occasion.

Team India had defeated New Zealand in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday to not only become the most successful team in T20 World Cup history with their third title, they also became the first side to win back-to-back titles as well as lift the trophy on home soil.
