Australia’s Steve Smith could have had his fortunes changed had he opted for a review during his team’s 2023 Cricket World Cup Final against India in Ahmedabad on Sunday.Australia were chasing India’s total of 240 and in the seventh over, Steve Smith was given out LBW off Jasprit Bumrah’s ball.It was a slower off-cutter from Bumrah and Smith, looking to play it straight missed on this occasion and was struck on the back pad. While Smith did not opt for the review, ball-tracking showed that the impact was outside the line of the off stump.Had Smith gone for the review, the decision would have been reversed and he would have been eventually given not out. Smith was dismissed for just four runs from nine balls.At the time of writing this report, Australia were 170/3 in 31 overs, needing 71 more runs to win from 19 overs.
