IPL 2024: Prithvi Shaw plays first match of season as Delhi Capitals bat against Chennai Super Kings
Shaw had an underwhelming season with DC in IPL 2023, having scored just 106 runs from eight matches, and will be looking for a positive start to his IPL 2024 campaign.

Prithvi Shaw was on Sunday included in the Delhi Capitals (DC) playing XI for the first time this season as they took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Vizag during their IPL 2024 match. Shaw had an underwhelming season with DC in IPL 2023, having scored just 106 runs from eight matches.
DC coach Ricky Ponting had hinted on Shaw's inclusion in the playing XI ahead of the CSK game. "Yeah, Shaw’s pushing for it. He has worked hard in the last couple of weeks. Our team make-up in the first game without obviously (Anrich) Nortje being in allowed us to play four overseas batsmen,” Ponting said.

Sipper Rishabh Pant at the toss on Sunday said that spinner Kuldeep Yadav had a niggle and misses out of the game against CSK. He added that even Ricky Bhui also misses out. Ishant Sharma has come in place for Kuldeep.
Delhi Capitals are winless after two matches following defeats to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). They lie ninth in the 10-team points table.
CSK, who have won two out of two matches, have named an unchanged side.
