Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu quits YSR Congress Party nine days after joining
In December, Ambati Rayudu had joined the party in Andhra Pradesh and was welcomed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and P Mithun Reddy, Rajampet Lok Sabha Member.
Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu on Saturday announced that he was quitting the YSR Congress Party, just nine days after joining. In a post shared on micro-blogging platform ‘X’, Rayudu said that he has decided to stay out of politics for a while.
“This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course of time. Thank You,” Rayudu posted.

Rayudu, who has played 55 ODIs and six T20Is for India, had announced retirement from international cricket in 2019 following his omission from India’s World Cup squad.
