ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Highlights: The Champions Trophy finally returned to action on Wednesday, 19 February with Pakistan vs New Zealand clash as the opening game in Karachi. Wednesday's clash marked the return of the 'Mini World Cup' after a hiatus of nearly eight years, and it will be followed by India's opening game of the tournament – against Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday.

Pakistan and New Zealand had faced each other twice recently – in the ODI triangular series also featuring South Africa in which the Black Caps emerged winners on both occasions, including the final. Pakistan have once again been defeated by New Zealand on their home soil with the record now extending to 3-0 in favour of the Kiwis.
