'PSL things in IPL': Rishabh Pant’s bizarre run-out attempt during Jadeja-Ferreira mix-up goes viral
Rishabh Pant is facing criticism after a bizarre run-out blunder in Lucknow Super Giants vs Rajasthan Royals clash in IPL 2026. RR won the match by 40 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant found himself under heavy criticism after a bizarre run-out attempt during their IPL 2026 clash against Rajasthan Royals at the Ekana Stadium.
LSG were impressive with the ball, as their pace trio of Mohsin Khan, Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav picked up two wickets each to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 159/6. However, a chaotic moment during the first innings in the field grabbed all the attention.

The incident happened in the 15th over when Ravindra Jadeja played a delivery towards square leg and called for a second run. Midway through, he changed his mind and sent back Donovan Ferreira, who was already halfway down the pitch.
Nicholas Pooran reacted quickly and fired a throw towards the striker’s end, but it went wide. Pant rushed to collect the ball but accidentally dislodged the bails in the process. To make matters worse, he fumbled while gathering the ball, creating a moment of complete confusion on the field.
Although Pant recovered and attempted a throw to complete the run-out, the backup fielder failed to break the stumps in time, allowing Ferreira to survive. Jadeja, watching the entire sequence, was seen laughing at the unusual turn of events.
The missed opportunity did not hurt LSG much in the end, as Ferreira was dismissed in the very next over by Prince Yadav for 20 off 19 balls.
Chasing 160, LSG struggled badly with the bat and lost the match by 40 runs. None of their batters were able to fire as RR kept the pressure on by taking regular wickets. Mitchell Marsh scored a half-century, but apart from that, there was nothing to be proud about LSG's batting. Jofra Archer picked up three wickets, while Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma took two each.
