RCB vs CSK Highlights, IPL 2026: Bengaluru seal dominant win against Chennai to go on top of table

Royal Challengers Bengaluru dominate at home, defeating Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs. RCB move to the top of the IPL 2026 points table with their second consecutive win of the season.

(On his innings) Very pleased – does not always happen that way. The skipper was smoking it, and I just took some balls off him – it was super fun. I do not change my game much, but I have confidence from all the prep I do. Going in to bat with Jitesh and Shepherd behind me really gives me confidence. Lot of prep we do here. Nice to work with DK – he is an experienced player in these conditions. Have been in the IPL for a few years. With that prep, you don’t put pressure on yourself to perform.

It feels great. Initially, ball was stopping a bit. The way Phil and Kohli played, it was superb. I enjoyed a lot of sixes (towards the end) from the non-striker’s end. My mindset was clear – to put pressure on the bowler, and wanted to hit sixes. He (David) is a specialist, and one of the best finishers. He is consistent and one of the best finishers I have ever seen. (On David’s 106m six) I was just looking at the ball. They (Krunal and Suyash) are wicket-taking bowlers. The way Suyash came and bowled those four beautiful overs, it was great. Whenever I come under pressure, I look to KP (Krunal Pandya) and I have that much belief in him. Everyone is looking great and in a good mindset, and looking forward to the next game.

(On scoring more than 200 eventually) I was also a little surprised, to be honest. Great fight by Sarfaraz, Overton, Veer and to some extent, Dube. If I would have contributed more, maybe it could have been different. It (the loss) was definitely on me today. (On David’s innings) Almost got a wicket of him but it was an illegal delivery. After that, he smacked it all around the park. Hats off to him. (On if they should have had powerplay wickets) We would have had, if we would have taken an early chance of Kohli. We would have had momentum. We still had the game in our hands till the 13-14th over (but let momentum slip after it).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru wrapped up a comprehensive win as Abhinandan Singh dismissed Matt Henry to end the innings. Chennai Super Kings are bowled out for 207, as RCB win by 43 runs. This is their fourth consecutive win over CSK for the first time in history. CSK, on the other hand, have lost three games in a row this season.

Chennai Super Kings move to 204/9 after 19 overs, crossing the 200 mark thanks to some late hits from Anshul Kamboj. However, with 47 needed off the final over, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are just one step away from sealing another dominant win.

Noor Ahmad has been dismissed as Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up another wicket for RCB. Virat Kohli completed a good catch in the deep, leaving CSK just one wicket away from massive defeat.

Jamie Overton has been dismissed for 37 as Suyash Sharma picked up the crucial wicket for RCB. Overton mistimed his shot and was caught in the deep, leaving CSK eight down and almost out of the contest.

Prashant Veer has been dismissed for 43 as Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a crucial breakthrough for RCB to further solidify their position. Rajat Patidar took a sharp catch at extra cover. CSK are in serious trouble in the chase.

Prashant Veer is playing a fighting knock as Chennai Super Kings reach 157/6 after 14 overs. Veer took on Krunal Pandya with multiple boundaries and a six in the over, but CSK still need 94 from 36 balls, with the required rate climbing above 15 now.

Jamie Overton is keeping the contest alive with a quickfire cameo as CSK reach 136/6 after 12 overs. Overton smashed two sixes and a boundary off Romario Shepherd in a 19-run over, but CSK still need 115 from 48 balls, which is a big ask with just the lower order. RCB are in full control of the game.

Chennai Super Kings have moved to 117/6 after 11 overs but the required rate has climbed to nearly 15 runs per over and it now seems an impossible task to complete. Suyash Sharma bowled a tidy over. Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton are finding it tough to accelerate in this steep chase.

Shivam Dube has been dismissed for 18 runs as Jitesh Sharma pulled off a stunning low catch behind the stumps. Abhinandan Singh got the wicket, and with this, Chennai Super Kings slip further in the chase of 251. They need 142 off 60 balls to win the match.

Chennai Super Kings reached 105/5 after 9 overs but still need 146 runs from 66 balls in a tough chase. Shivam Dube and Prashant Veer are trying to counterattack, but Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in full control of the game.

Kartik Sharma follows Sarfaraz Khan to the CSK dugout in the same over, getting a thick top-edge while attempting to smash the ball towards Cubbon Park, resulting in a simple catch for Abhinandan Singh near short third man. CSK 84/5 in 6.5; target: 251

Spin-bowling all-rounder Krunal Pandya gets the huge breakthrough, getting Sarfaraz stumped after the latter charges down the track, looking to smash him for a six first ball, only to miss it completely and allow for an easy stumping. CSK 77/4 in 6.1; target: 251

Abhinandan Singh is introduced in the final over of the powerplay as RCB make the first bowling change of the chase. Sarfaraz, who is timing the ball brilliantly at the moment, puts him under pressure right away with back-to-back fours. He then brings up his fifty with a single in the final delivery. Despite losing three early wickets, CSK are not out of this yet, but will need Sarfaraz to stay at the crease for an extended period of time. Chennai Super Kings need 174 to win from 84.

Another big over for the Super Kings, and looks like they aren’t out of the contest just yet despite losing three wickets in the powerplay! Huge over for the ‘Yellow Army’ with Duffy getting smashed for 23 runs after being asked to bowl a third on the trot. Sarfaraz races to 37 after smashing the Kiwi pacer for a six over deep midwicket that is followed by two fours in the next three balls. ‘Impact Sub’ Kartik Sharma opens his account with a maximum in the final delivery, flicking towards deep midwicket where he just about clears the rope. Sarfaraz, who had begun his IPL career at RCB under Virat Kohli’s leadership and knows this ground quite well, opens his account with a boundary off Bhuvneshwar in the second over. He’s batting on 22 off 12 balls at the end of the fourth over, collecting four fours and a six along the way. Expensive second over for Bhuvi, conceding a six and a four in an 11-run over. The Super Kings are scoring at 10-an-over but have lost a wicket in each of the three overs that have been bowled so far in their chase. And just like his opening partner in the first over, Samson perishes after getting caught at slip right after smashing the Kiwi pacer for a six. CSK 30/3 in 2.5; target: 251

CSK’s horror start continues as Ayush Mhatre, who had struck 73 against PBKS at Chepauk, departs for 1 after getting a thick leading edge off the veteran Indian pacer, resulting in a simple catch for Patidar near mid off. CSK 10/2 in 1.2; target: 251

At the time-out, we talked about keeping going. Probably glad I got out because the entertainment (from David) was incredible. It was a bit tacky early on, was not coming on with the new ball. We did not want to lose too many early wickets. We knew we could maximise later (on this ground). Very hard to set a target here. The moment you have momentum behind you, you need to keep going. Coming into last year, wanted to make sure I believed in myself. It is a really good score. Hopefully we will get the win.

RCB finish with a huge 250/3 in 20 overs after a stunning batting display. Tim David remained unbeaten on 70, while Rajat Patidar added a quickfire 48, as RCB completely dominated the final overs to set a massive target for Chennai Super Kings, the highest score this season.

Tim David is absolutely on fire as RCB storm to 237/3 after 19 overs, the highest score in this year’s IPL. David smashed Jamie Overton for 30 runs in the over, including multiple sixes, bringing up a stunning 21-ball fifty and putting RCB in complete control of the game. CSK are eyeing another defeat?

Tim David got a huge lifeline after being bowled by Anshul Kamboj, only for it to be called a no-ball. David made full use of the free hit, smashing a six as Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue their late surge in the death overs and will now look to go past 230.

Tim David has gone on a six-hitting spree as Royal Challengers Bengaluru raced to 193/3 after 17 overs. David smashed three massive sixes in the over off Noor Ahmad, shifting the momentum completely in RCB’s favour heading into the final overs. Captain Rajat Patidar is also going hard at the other end.

Rajat Patidar is playing a stunning captain’s knock as Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached 172/3 after 16 overs. Patidar took apart Khaleel Ahmed with multiple sixes and a boundary in the over, putting CSK under massive pressure in the death overs.
