David Miller is the Player of the Match. South Africa were struggling at 20-3 when Miller walked in and he counter attacked to put the pressure back on India. Miller top-scored in this game with a 35-ball 63 with seven fours and three sixes.

Marco Jansen dismisses Jasprit Bumrah on his very first ball and finishes with four wickets. South Africa register a clinical victory to stun India.

Marco Jansen bowls another knuckle ball and gets the reward with the wicket of Shivam Dube who hits the ball straight to short fine leg. Dube gets 42 and South Africa are just a wicket away from a massive win.

It is almost a packed house in Ahmedabad but they have not been entertained by the Indian team:

Shivam Dube cannot get a clean strike in any of thhe five balls he faced and he does not want to take singles. So Corbin Bosch just walks away with a one-run over.

IND 102-8 need 84 from 18

Shivam Dube sends Kagiso Rabada for two straight sixes to start the over. Dube then mistimes the ball and should have been caught but David Miller drops the catch.

IND 101-8(16) need 87 in 24

Another wicket for Keshav Maharaj and another catch for Tristan Stubbs at the boundary. Arshdeep jumps out and times the ball well but is caught. Three wickets for Maharaj in an over.

Rinku Singh had no choice but to go hard and after a dot ball first up he wants to target the straight boundary but is caught well within the ropes. Keshav Maharaj strikes twice in three balls. The game is as good as done here.

Slow and wide from Keshav Maharaj. Hardik Pandya wants to launch him over long-off but the ball just goes high and lands in Tristan Stubbs’ hands just ahead of the boundary line.

The required run rate for India is 17 RPO. It looks impossible from here on. Lungi Ngidi finishes another good over. He has given away only 12 from his three overs tonight.

The required run rate has now shot up to over 15 with this brilliant over from Marco Jansen who concedes only six runs from this. Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya need to pull off a miracle if India have to have a chance in this match.

Kagiso Rabada bowls it full and Shivam Dube fires the ball back over the bowler’s head for a one-bounce four. Brutal power there.

IND 74-5(11.4) need 114 from 50

Hardik Pandya launches Keshav Maharaj over extra cover for a six. Tristan Stubbs was there on the boundary and he almost caught the ball but it was a really tough chance and the ball just goes all the way. A good start to the over for India.

Another big blow. South Africa just continue to run away with this match. Suryakumar Yadav comes across and wants to flick the ball but somehow gets a leading edge and the ball ends up in the hands of mid-wicket inside the circle. Suryakumar is out for 18. Half of Indian batting is sent back in the pavillion. Corbin Bosch has two wickets now in just seven balls.

Indian fans are not happy with Abhishek Sharma’s poor form in the T20 World Cup:

Washington Sundar wants to go over extra cover but Corbin Bosch’s ball is going away from him. All Sundar gets on the ball is a thin edge and Quinton de Kock takes a regulation catch.

Short and towards the leg side from Keshav Maharaj. Washington Sundar gets low and launches the ball over fine leg for a high six. India breath a sigh or relief with this much needed boundary.

Washington Sundar is not looking convincing here. He is trying things but Kagiso Rabada has been brilliant in this over. Four dot balls to start and then the final two balls go for a single each. India under immense pressure here.

Abhishek Sharma was not looking comfortable in his stay and finally perishes. Marco Jansen deceives him with a slower ball and Sharma skies the ball high. Corbin Bosch takes a brilliant catch avoiding collision with Keshav Maharaj. Sharma can only get 15 off 12. India in deep trouble here.

Ngidi has been among the standout performers in this tournament, and keeps India skipper Surya guessing with his variations. Tight call for a wide in the penultimate delivery. IND 26/2 in 4; target: 188

Ends up clearing the straight boundary behind him, such was the timing. Kagiso Rabada was off to a tidy start after replacing Markram in the attack, bowling three consecutive dots. Abhishek, however, anticipated a short ball in the fourth delivery and adjusted superbly. He ends the over with a boundary, smacking a wide full toss towards the cover fence. The India skipper opens his account with a four off his first delivery, clipping a short-of-length ball through midwicket. Threads the gap on the off side beautifully two balls later. Eight runs and a wicket off the over. South Africa in the driving seat at the moment. IND 13/2 in 2

What makes it worse is the fact that Tilak burns a review on his way back to the dugout, with UltraEdge confirming a big spike. It’s been all South Africa in Ahmedabad since the end of their powerplay! IND 5/2 in 1.1; target: 188

And he does so in style with a firm cut through point in the final delivery of the first over of India’s chase. IND 5/1 in 1; target: 188

Aiden Markram’s decision to open the bowling for South Africa turns out to be something of a masterstroke as the keeper-batter perishes for a four-ball duck, getting a thick outside edge that results in a simple catch for the fielder at mid off. IND 0/1 in 0.4; target: 188

And South Africa captain Aiden Markram interestingly decides to have a bowl first up instead of giving it to Kagiso Rabada or someone else.

“Really enjoyed that. We were under pressure in the powerplay. We (Brevis and me) got the innings going and good to contribute to a good score. Licking my lips with the Free hits. Breaks the momentum of the opposition. To get two sixes, good to capitalize. It is a good wicket. It is not slow, just a touch on the slower side. Not much spin. Change of pace, might just spin a bit. Good wicket but probably a good total as well. If we can break up front, we know they are going to come hard…they have a batting line-up all the way through, but we need to be disciplined (at the top) and come hard (at them),” Miller (63 off 35) said at the end of the South African innings.

Tristan Stubbs smashes Hardik Pandya for back-to-back sixes to power South Africa to 187/7. Stubbs finishes with 44 not out in 24. For India, the pick of the bowlers was Jasprit Bumrah with 3/15.

Jasprit Bumrah gets his third wicket of the night. Corbin Bosch plays this yorker straight back into Bumrah’s hands. It seems that it is a bump ball but the umpire take a look at it and it turns out to be a straight catch.
