India and Ireland are all set to lock horns in the 2nd and final T20 match of the series. The T20 world champions are coming off a stunning 34-run defeat to the hosts and would be keen to turn the tables when the action takes place on Sunday at the Stormont Cricket Ground in Belfast.

Shreyas Iyer's tenure as India's T20 captain had an underwhelming start after they endured a major batting collapse while attempting to chase down the 183-run target in the first T20 on Friday. The Lorcan Tucker-led Ireland outgunned them in the second innings and secured their first-ever victory over India across formats.

The big question now is whether India will take a gamble by handing a debut in the series‑deciding clash against Ireland. After the hosts’ debutants impressed, all eyes are on whether it will be Vaibhav Sooryavanshi or Prince Yadav who gets the nod.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi debut against Ireland?

While fans are eagerly awaiting Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's debut, the team management will likely stick with the incumbent openers and is not expected to make changes in the top order. Abhishek Sharma performed well in the first T20, scoring a half-century. Samson was dismissed for just five runs, but he is expected to get another opportunity in the second T20.

The focus would rather be on Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar. The seamer was expensive for India after conceding 27 runs in an over and remaining wicketless in the first match. On the other hand, Sundar bowled just one over, conceding 19 runs and also failed to make an impact with the bat.

India could name potential replacements in playing 11

Prince Yadav could be drafted into India’s playing XI for the second T20, likely replacing Prasidh Krishna. Suspense also surrounds Washington Sundar’s role, with Suryansh Shedge and Ravi Bishnoi waiting in the wings, should the management opt to bench him.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s much‑anticipated debut may be deferred to the upcoming England T20 series or even later.
