India A’s next match against Afghanistan A is almost like a do-or-die contest now. Sri Lanka A would feel they have done enough to reach the final.

Ugly scenes in Dambulla:

The game is over but the drama is not. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is arguing with the Sri Lanka A team fielders. It is not quite clear what happened there but it is not looking good. Shiraz removed Arshad Khan for 2, taking another wicket as India suffer a late setback in the death overs after a brilliant partnership between Shedge and Nigam. India A are now 260/9 with Shedge holding one end and just Yash Thakur for company.

India suffered a dramatic twist as Vipraj Nigam is run out for 51 in a bizarre mix-up off Shiraz’s delivery, halting a strong late partnership just as momentum was building. Despite the setback, Suryansh Shedge continues his attacking intent, adding a superb six as India A move to 253/8 with only the lower order left to bat.

India A have reached 247/7 after 47 overs as Suryansh Shedge is batting on 62 and Vipraj Nigam on 51. They are keeping the scoreboard moving with timely boundaries. Nigam has brought up a well-constructed fifty. Sri Lanka bowlers are beginning to feel the pressure in the death overs after a solid start to their spell.
