Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be aiming to inch closer to the top of the 2026 Indian Premier League table when they host Gujarat Titans at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday, 24 April. RCB currently are third on the IPL 2026 table with eight points in six outings while GT find themselves in the lower half of the table at seventh, having collected six points in as many outings.

It's their Net Run Rate, however, that explains the gulf between these two teams at present. RCB boast of a strong NRR of +1.171 while GT's corresponding number reads – 0.821 – the third worst among the 10 teams.

Both teams had suffered a home defeat in their previous outing – RCB against Delhi Capitals and GT against Mumbai Indians. But it was the margin of Gujarat's defeat (99 runs) that has left behind a massive dent in their NRR, leaving them with no option but to play catch up as the 19th IPL season enters its second half.

The 19th IPL season has witnessed its fair share of rain-interrupted games with one match getting washed out, but that isn't likely to be the case for the upcoming RCB vs GT clash with a zero per cent chance of rain in Bengaluru on Friday.

The temperature is expected to hover around the 32-33-degree mark in the evening when the match gets underway.

RCB vs GT: Pitch Report

The final match of the season at the Chinnaswamy will be played on the same surface where RCB had faced Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. The former was a high-scoring evening contest in which more than 450 runs had been scored in nearly 40 overs while the latter was a relatively low-scoring affair due to the fact that it took place during the day.

With the upcoming match taking place in the evening, RCB vs GT should be another high-scoring affair.
