Arjun Tendulkar earns high praise from father Sachin after impressive LSG debut: 'Proud of the way you...'

Arjun Tendulkar's impressive performance for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in his first game for the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) helped him earn praise from his father and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Arjun was traded from Mumbai Indians to LSG ahead of IPL 2026 but could not get any game time until the last match of the season. The left-arm pace bowling all-rounder could not do much with the bat but was the most economical bowler for the Super Giants in their loss against Punjab Kings.

Primarily a bowling all-rounder, Arjun showed his potential with a superb four-over spell against the Kings. While senior bowlers like Mohammed Shami and more established younger names like Prince Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Digvesh Rathi all went for over 10 runs per over, Arjun conceded only 36 runs in his four overs.

He also took the wicket of a well-set Prabhsimran Singh with an inch-perfect yorker. Father Sachin was highly impressed with the performance and took to social media to shower praise on his son.

"Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match. Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today," Sachin wrote on X.

"Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always," the Master Blaster added.

Despite Arjun's economical bowling, LSG could not avoid another one-sided thrashing by the Kings in Lucknow. Riding on captain Shreyas Iyer's maiden IPL century, PBKS chased down a target of 197 with two overs still remaining in the contest. The loss means LSG are all set to finish at the bottom of the points table for the first time since they made their IPL debut in 2022.
