“I mean, to be very honest, I don’t know how, since under-12 days, my dad’s been sitting next to the screen always, and in Hyderabad as well, he’s always sitting there. Whenever I’m on the non-striker end, he tells me how to play,” Abhishek said.

He then made a humorous request to the IPL broadcaster, asking them to show his father on camera during matches. “Next time I just want one of the cameras to go to him and just see his reactions. It’s going to be really fun,” he added, a comment that left his father laughing in the stands.

The young batter also explained his popular ‘L’ celebration, which he performed after reaching his century off 47 balls. “I’ve been doing this ‘L’ celebration for quite long. It’s just love for the stadium and the fans. They support us throughout the tournament, even at the hotel. I just want to show some love from my side,” he said.

"It's just I had a plan with Frankie (James Franklin) and it was just he wanted me to bat till 20th over and even Murali (Muralitharan) said the same thing. Maybe this is the first time I ever batted 20th over. So that was just the celebration for that," Abhishek had said about his new folded arms celebration.

He also dedicated the moment to his family, especially mentioning his sister, who missed the match due to illness. “It’s always special to perform in front of parents and friends. My sister is missing today because she had some infection. So this is for you as well,” he added.

Abhishek’s knock, combined with strong support from Ishan Kishan, Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, helped SRH register a commanding 47-run win and go to third spot on the points table.
