Prabhas’ Fauzi shoot halted after fatal accident on set kills one, injures 5: Details

The shoot of Fauzi, starring Prabhas, has been temporarily halted following a tragic accident on set in Hyderabad that claimed one life and left several others injured.

What happened on set

According to reports, the accident occurred near Abdullapurmet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, as crew members were travelling to Ramoji Film City, one of the film’s key shooting locations. Reports suggest the vehicle lost control and crashed into a divider along the busy stretch, which typically sees heavy commuter and commercial traffic in the early hours.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

Shoot paused

In the aftermath of the incident, director Hanu Raghavapudi and the producers at Mythri Movie Makers have temporarily halted the shoot.. The team is said to be assessing the situation while authorities look into the cause of the accident. No official statement from the makers has been released so far regarding when the shoot will resume.

The tragedy has once again brought attention to safety standards on large film sets, particularly those involving elaborate constructions and high-risk sequences. While such productions often operate under tight timelines and complex logistics, incidents like these underline the importance of strict safety protocols.

About Fauzi

Fauzi is a period action drama featuring Prabhas as a soldier of the Azad Hind Force. The makers had unveiled the title poster last year, offering a first look at the actor’s character. Anupam Kher, who was last seen in Tanvi The Great, joined the cast earlier this year.

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is expected to release in two parts, with the second instalment reportedly serving as a prequel. Production was said to be nearing completion before the accident. The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada, and is being eyed for a Dussehra release, although an official date is yet to be announced.

Prabhas was last seen in The Raja Saab and is set to appear next in Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as well as the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. Meanwhile, Raghavapudi previously directed Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna.
