Netflix's The Night Agent to end with Season 4, confirms streaming giant
Netflix’s The Night Agent will conclude with Season 4, with production underway and creators promising a “proper and thrilling” final chapter.

The Night Agent is officially gearing up for its final chapter, with Netflix confirming that the hit political thriller will conclude with its upcoming fourth season. The decision to wrap up the series with Season 4 appears to be a creative one.
Showrunner Shawn Ryan has indicated that the goal has always been to deliver a complete arc for its lead character, Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso. Ryan has promised a “proper and thrilling conclusion”, signalling that the show will end on its own terms rather than being cut short.
Ryan said, “Ever since the initial success of ‘The Night Agent,’ I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey. I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”
Final season already in production
Production on Season 4 has already begun in Los Angeles, marking a shift from the show’s earlier globe-trotting locations. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the final instalment is expected to continue the series’ signature mix of high-stakes espionage and political intrigue.
What to expect from the last chapter
The upcoming season will see Peter Sutherland take on one final mission, bringing closure to the storyline that has unfolded over multiple seasons. New cast additions are also expected to join the series, alongside returning faces, as the narrative builds towards its conclusion.
A strong run for Netflix
Since its debut, The Night Agent has been one of Netflix’s most consistent performers, drawing strong viewership and maintaining its place among the platform’s popular thriller titles. The third season alone pulled in millions of views shortly after release, reinforcing its status as a global hit.
With Season 4 set to close the story, the makers now face the challenge of delivering a satisfying finale for fans who have followed Peter Sutherland’s journey from the very beginning.
