What does the Quantico actress have to say about her achievements in the West? Are the offers and opportunities as versatile as in the Hindi film industry? The actress was quoted saying, "In my Hindi-language career, I’ve worked with all the best filmmakers and the best actors, I’ve told amazing stories and done a variety of genres. Whereas in America, in Hollywood, in my English-language work, I haven’t really done that as much."

Why she left the Hindi film industry

In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Priyanka Chopra said, “I don’t think I ever wanted to leave Bollywood. I felt limited for many reasons when I was working in Hindi films. I was being pushed into… I was looking for opportunities that felt exciting to me as an artist and I landed up working in America. After 12 years, I am finding the momentum in choosing work.

But at the same time, I love my work in India, I am really excited to be doing Varanasi in India again. I would hate to have to choose between the two. I straddle both the worlds and I enjoy working in both the industries. They are both different in many ways just as cultures.”

She moved to Hollywood in 2016 but will be back on the Indian screens with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi next year.

In a recent podcast, when asked about quitting Bollywood, the actress said, “I’m just someone who doesn’t like staying in the shit because then you get used to the smell.”
