Tata reveals new Tiago and Tiago EV with refreshed design and features — Here’s what’s on the horizon

Tata Motors has revealed the updated Tiago and Tiago EV, confirming that both hatchbacks will launch on 28 May 2026. The company has given the hatchbacks a refreshed exterior design with several new additions throughout. Both the Tiago ICE and the EV now feature a more modern and refined appearance than before.

The exterior design has been significantly revamped across both models. They now feature bolder headlamps with new LED DRLs. The ICE version receives a new grille that resembles the design of the larger Tata Altroz. The EV, meanwhile, features a blanked-off grille. Both cars get redesigned bumpers, with the ICE variant receiving pixel-style fog lamps. The new bumper design now closely mirrors that of the Altroz.

Both variants also get redesigned alloy wheels, black wheel arches, and vertical LED strips on the rear bumper. The tail-lights have been updated to a connected light bar that stretches across the rear hatch. The cars also feature a 360-degree camera system along with a new instrument cluster.

Cameras are mounted on the front bumper and ORVMs, confirming the inclusion of a new 360-degree camera setup, which is new to both the Tiago and Tiago EV. The interiors have also been updated, featuring a redesigned dashboard, a new steering wheel design, an illuminated logo, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

Top-end variants are expected to include automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, and automatic climate control. In addition, instead of the current two airbags, the facelifted Tiago is expected to offer six airbags as standard.

Powertrain – ICE variant

The ICE version is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. The CNG variant of the same engine will produce 75.5 hp and 96.5 Nm of torque.

Tiago EV

The current-generation Tiago EV will be offered with two battery pack options: a 19.2 kWh unit paired with a 61 hp, 110 Nm motor, and a larger 24 kWh unit with a 75 hp, 114 Nm motor. The claimed range is 223 km for the 19.2 kWh battery and 293 km for the 24 kWh battery. The updated model may launch with slightly larger battery packs.

Current prices for the Tiago ICE range from Rs 4.60 lakh to Rs 7.68 lakh. The EV is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.14 lakh. The EV variant is also expected to be offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme.
