OpenAI and Infosys partner to expand AI adoption across businesses: Here’s what the tie-up entails
OpenAI partners with Infosys to integrate AI tools into Topaz, strengthening enterprise adoption of generative and agentic AI across global businesses

Sam Altman’s OpenAI has joined hands with Infosys to integrate its artificial intelligence tools into the Topaz AI platform used by the Indian IT conglomerate. Infosys has been vocal about how the integration would help its clients modernise software development, automate workflows, and deploy AI systems at scale, initially focusing on software engineering, legacy modernisation, and DevOps.
The move echoes a broader trend of AI firms teaming up with global IT services providers to scale adoption in large enterprises. OpenAI has previously partnered with HCLTech, and Infosys has also struck a similar deal with Anthropic. With the new collaboration, OpenAI gains a distribution channel into large enterprises through Infosys’ global client base and delivery capabilities across more than 60 countries.
Infosys has been pushing its AI business as well. Earlier, the company said that AI-related services generated Rs 25 billion in revenue in the December quarter, or roughly 5.5% of its total.
This deal is part of a broader push by OpenAI to expand its enterprise footprint through initiatives such as Codex Labs, announced on Tuesday, which involves engineers working with clients to help deploy its tools. Initial partners include Accenture, Capgemini, CGI, Cognizant, Infosys, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services, as OpenAI aims to build a distribution network to scale adoption of Codex.
Infosys has said that the collaboration leverages its global delivery scale and expertise in application modernisation and enterprise transformation, positioning it to deploy AI solutions in real-world environments. It further details how the company has established an operating model that brings together technology, talent, and transformation frameworks, enabling clients to move from pilot projects to full-scale implementations.
The current changes will help enterprises adopt generative and agentic AI technologies expected to redefine business operations.
