Mercedes unveils the high-performance GLE 53 Coupe and AMG A 45 S Aero Track Edition in India, featuring upgraded power, advanced features

Coming hot off a recent launch of the Maybach and the GL-Class models, Mercedes has now unveiled the all-new GLE Coupe Performance Edition. The new GLE Coupe commands a Rs 7 lakh premium over the standard GLE Coupe, which costs Rs 1.45 crore. The AMG trim variant has the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard, lending it active roll stabilization, superior brakes, an onboard race telemetry app, and a slew of fresh new design elements.
The AMG GLE 53 Performance Edition also brings ventilated and perforated discs, red brake calipers, and 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black. The car is also equipped with the AMG Track Pace app for live on-track telemetry data and a new AMG Performance steering wheel with leatherette upholstery. All of these are optional extras on the standard AMG GLE 53.
The exterior has not been updated extravagantly. The interior has a bunch of features that have been carried over from the standard car. These include dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and four-zone climate control. Beyond that, the car also has ventilated seats, heating and memory functions, and a 13-speaker Burmester sound system. The GLE AMG coupe could be yours for Rs 1.52 crore ex showroom.
Performance Specs
Under the hood, the German behemoth is powered by the AMG GLE 53’s 3-litre inline-six turbo petrol engine that produces 435 hp and 520 Nm, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels (AWD). The car is capable of going from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 5.3 seconds before maxing out at an electronically limited speed of 250 kph.
A 45 S Aero Track Edition
Beyond the GLE, Mercedes has also launched an all-new AMG A 45 S Aero Track Edition in India. The special edition costs Rs 5.5 lakh more than the previous version of the A 45 AMG. The new A 45 S Aero Track Edition brings gloss black elements, a front splitter, a fixed wing at the back, and an air diffuser. The add-ons also include 19-inch forged alloy wheels finished in matte black, AMG exhaust pipes, and brake calipers finished in red.
The Mercedes AMG A 45 S Aero Track Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission and the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. The A 45 Aero Track Edition goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 270 kph.
