Mercedes-Benz C-class EV interior revealed with massive 39.1-Inch hyperscreen

Mercedes has revealed the first official pictures of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class EV right before its final unveiling. A series of new reveals highlight that the Mercedes-Benz EV will adopt the same digital-heavy interior as the larger GLC EV. The new C-Class with EQ tech is expected to be unwrapped at an event in South Korea on Monday and go on sale this summer to rival the BMW i3 saloon. The upcoming electric C-Class is expected to share most of its technical ancillaries with that of the EV GLC.

Both cars will share the 800V MB.EA platform, which will allow it to offer a range of more than 450 miles. The dashboard of the vehicle would span a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. The new interior update showcases that the hyperscreen-dominated dash has two wireless phone chargers below it. The new dash has no space for physical controls for functions including the parking camera, driving modes, and audio volume.

With the new innovation, Mercedes claims that the C-class sets new benchmarks in the segment for interior quality. The car will be offered with a wide range of materials, including Nappa leather and, only for the second time in Mercedes, vegan leather. The new seats would include innovations like electro-pneumatic lumbar support, which adapts the backrest of the car to the natural curvature of the spine.

Just like we have seen on the GLC before, top-end models will feature a Burmester 4D Surround Sound system that adds transducers into the seat that emit bass as per the tracks playing in the car. Mercedes additionally claims that the car’s highly rigid bodyshell and aerodynamically optimised design reduce noise and vibration.

Mercedes has raised the bar with the new C-Class EV. Boss Ola Källenius said that with the electric C-Class, “we’ve raised everything customers love about this model to the next level.” The result is a new benchmark for quality, craftsmanship, and comfort. The brand seeks to make this the most intelligent C-Class ever.
