BMW has unveiled the new 450 GS, a compact adventure bike with a 420cc twin engine, advanced rider aids

BMW has unveiled its latest addition to the GS lineup, the all-new 450 GS. The bike will be available soon in three variants that include the Basic, Exclusive, and the GS Trophy variant. The design of the bike sticks to the quintessential BMW style, with sharp lines and an X-shaped LED DRL similar to the BMW R 1300 GS.

The all-new baby GS will be powered by a 420 cc parallel-twin engine, pushing 47.6 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. A standout feature of the new bike would be the Easy Ride Clutch, available with the GS Trophy variant.

Instrument Cluster

A 6.5-inch TFT display would handle connectivity duties and also inform the rider regarding lean angle and braking data. Other rider aids include cornering ABS, switchable traction control, engine braking control, and multiple ride modes such as Rain, Road, and Enduro. To aid the rider, the new adventure GS would also have heated grips, adjustable levers, and USB Type-C charging.

The adventure tourer has a ride height of 845 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. The bike gets 19-inch wheels up front and 17-inch wheels at the rear. The frame chassis is suspended by 43 mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock with travel-dependent damping. The Trophy variant’s suspension would further have compression and rebound adjustability, the BMW F450 GS is available for a price of Rs 4,70 lakh.
