Audi India has confirmed the launch of the Audi RS 5 sedan in India. While the brand has not revealed an official timeline yet, it is reported that the model will be imported into the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The RS 5 is the manufacturer’s first hybridised RS model globally and is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing 510 hp and 600 Nm of torque.

The engine works in tandem with a plug-in hybrid system that develops an additional 177 hp and 460 Nm of torque, taking the total combined output to around 639 hp and 825 Nm. The RS 5 is equipped with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission paired with a limited-slip differential, which balances power delivery between the rear wheels and the front axle.

Interior highlights

The RS 5 features a triple-screen setup, including an 11.9-inch digital driver’s display, a 14.5-inch OLED central infotainment screen, and a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger. Streamlined controls include scroll functions on the three-spoke steering wheel, along with dedicated buttons for drive modes, boost functions, and more.

The cabin features sporty red accents with ambient lighting, including red seat piping. The dashboard, door pads, and armrests are finished in Dinamica suede upholstery, while the steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather. On the international-spec model, equipment includes heated, power-adjustable bucket seats with massage functionality, while seat ventilation and a sunroof are offered as optional extras.

The model is expected to launch in India in 2026 at a price of around Rs 1.5 crore. The RS 5, likely arriving as a CBU import, could be introduced as early as this year, alongside upcoming models such as the third-generation Q3, Q5, Q6 e-tron, and A6 e-tron. It is expected to be priced significantly higher than the S5 Sportback, which was last listed at Rs 73.57 lakh before being removed from Audi India’s website.
