Thousands of students continue to protest over the NEET 2026 Paper Leak in India's national capital New Delhi. The students are demanding accountability from the government including the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protests come after the NEET 2026 paper was leaked, cancelled and taken again. However, due to the cancellation, dozens of students died by suicide citing mental stress and financial strain. The student protest began with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar and was later joined by Sonam Wangchuk. Now, opposition parties, led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi have also joined the protest. Meanwhile, teachers, farmers, veterans and celebrities are also showing support to the students after clashes with police left more than 100 protesters wounded. Why does this protest feel so different? Hem Kaur Saroya explains on Vantage on Firstpost.
