Charging solutions for modern needs: UltraProlink Boost Unity 105, Stuffcool Zeno 100, GM G+ Travelease Pro

A scenario where multiple devices need to be charged at the same time is pretty common in most households. The devices range from laptops to smartphones to audio products and more. It leads to multiple chargers occupying multiple power sockets in the house. Today, we have a handful of products for you that can charge not just one or two but four to six devices simultaneously if you need to. And not just that but also a travel adapter that can do the same anywhere in the world. Let’s get to know more about them.

UltraProlink Boost Unity 105 Charging Station

Price: Rs 4,999

The Boost Unity 105 from UltraProlink is a new variant of the Boost Unity 100 we tested last year. This charging station boasts of the latest GaN gen 5 chipset for enhanced power distribution and support for newer charging protocols like AVS for the Apple iPhone 17 series. And not just phones, it can also charge laptops (that support USB-C charging) briskly as it can deliver up to 100W of USB-PD output. Two of its USB-C ports can even do 105W max on PPS and up to 60W max on AVS.

The overall build quality of the UltraProlink Boost Unity 105 is quite good with a flattish form factor that resembles a portable hard drive. I personally liked the design of the Boost Unity 100 a bit more with its vertical orientation. Coming back to the 105, this charging station can charge six devices simultaneously through its four USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. But do note that if you use multiple ports at a go, not all devices may charge at their full speed. Let me explain.

When used individually, the Boost Unity 105 can provide 100 Watts of USB-PD output from USB-C ports C1 or C2, and 65W from ports C3 or C4. The two USB-A ports can deliver up to 18 Watts each. These numbers are possible as long as none of the other ports are engaged at the same time. If you need to charge two USB-C devices simultaneously, it is best to use ports C1 and C2 as they can still deliver 65W + 30W together. If you use the USB-A port instead of one of the USB-C ports, you can still get 65W + 18W output.

In case you need to engage three USB-C ports, the combination of C1, C2 and C3 can give you 30W + 30W + 20W output. In case only one of the three devices needs to draw more power, you can use ports C2, C3 and C4 with C2 providing 65W output while the other two delivering 15W shared output. Similarly, you can use different combinations depending on the power requirements of the devices being charged. Details of all permutations and combinations are mentioned in the product manual.

I tried using certain ports individually as well as a few simultaneously on the Boost Unity 105, and the charging speeds were on expected lines. However, we did not use a multimeter to test the actual output values. This charging station supports several charging protocols like USB-PD 3.0, PPS, QC 4.0, AVS, FCP and more, so fast charging will work fine with Apple, Google, Samsung phones and several laptops too. However, it does not support proprietary charging standards like VOOC that you get on OnePlus, Realme and Oppo phones. As a result, this device cannot charge them as fast as their bundled chargers.

The UltraProlink Boost Unity 105 charging station is priced at Rs 4,999 and is covered by a one year warranty. The power cable is bundled along but not a USB cable. The pricing may be on the higher side compared to a standard fast charger, but if you are seeking the flexibility of charging a handful of your devices at a go using just one power outlet in the house, the price isn’t too high. However, if you can still find its predecessor, the Boost Unity 100 for a thousand less, that would be an even better deal.

Stuffcool Zeno 100 Charging Station

Price: Rs 3,999

If you do not intend to charge more than four devices at a go and are looking for a more compact charging station, the Stuffcool Zeno 100 might be a better option. The build quality is similar but the finish is a tad better here. It has four outputs - one USB-A port, two USB-C ports and a USB-C retractable cable that serves as the third type-C output. The USB-A port provides up to 18W of power with support for QC 3.0. Each of the two type-C ports can output 100W while the retractable cable can do up to 65W, when used individually. They support PD 3.0 and PPS standards.

As you know by now, when you use two or more ports simultaneously, the output drops but the Zeno 100 still delivers impressive numbers. If you use any two USB-C outputs together, you can get 65W + 35W output which is good enough to fast charge a laptop and a smartphone at the same time. If you use all three together, the output numbers change to 45W + 35W + 20W, yet delivering 100W output in total. If you use all four outputs together, the cable and C2 port still deliver 45W and 35W respectively, but C3 and USB-A ports collectively output 15W total.

Thus, choose the ports depending on the devices you want to charge and the power they can draw. Limit the number of devices in case you need to charge something faster. We tried charging a laptop that supports 65W USB-PD charging and a Google Pixel 10 Pro that can draw 30W on USB-PD 3.0 using the Zeno 100. The results were very much at par when charging those two devices using individual 65W and 30W chargers, incidentally from the same company (Stuffcool Zeno 65 and Zeno 30).

The Stuffcool Zeno 100 can be purchased for Rs 3,999 in India with a six-months warranty. The company also bundles a USB-C to C cable in the package in addition to the retractable one that’s almost 90 cm long. For its utility, performance and versatility, the asking price is fair if you have the need for a device like this.

GM G+ Travelease Pro Travel Charger

Price: Rs 3,299

While the earlier two are predominantly desktop chargers, the GM G+ Travelease Pro largely gives away its purpose in the model name itself. By travel, it does not mean just local but also international. When we travel abroad, more often than not we need to carry adapters that are compatible with the electricity sockets in those countries. We then plug our phone or laptop chargers in those adapters. The GM Travelease Pro offers you the best of both worlds.

It is essentially a universal adapter with a 70W fast GaN charger built in that saves you the trouble of carrying two different devices on your trip to charge your gadgets. The build and finish are quite good, yet it weighs under 250 grams and doesn’t take much space in your backpack. It has multiple plugs/pins that can be commissioned or retracted using three slide buttons, which work in over 150 countries like India, UK, USA, Australia and many more across Europe, Asia and South America.

All you need to do is slide the corresponding lever to get the necessary pin for the region and you are good to go. No detachable pins or multiple pieces to bother about; just one unit with everything in it. Speaking of a single unit, it also has an attached and retractable USB-C cable that can provide up to 70W USB-PD output when used individually. The product packaging as well as the company website states that the cable is 75 mm long. I can assure you it is a lot longer than that; probably 10 times longer.

In addition to that, you also get two more USB-C and two USB-A ports that can let you charge five devices at a go if you wish to. Mind you, in such a scenario, it would be unrealistic to expect fast charging. With fewer devices, the built-in type-C cable still provides 45W output while the other two type-C ports max out at 15W and the USB-A ports can go as high as 12W, which is good enough to charge smaller devices like wireless earphones and smartwatches at a fair clip or even phones at a steady pace.

While it can handle the load of multiple gadgets at a go, this product is not meant for high wattage appliances like hairdryers or blenders. So stick to phones, earphones, powerbanks, watches and cameras with this charger/adapter. For safety, it includes features like surge/ over-current and over-heating protection and child lock among others. The GM G+ Travelease Pro can be purchased for Rs 3,299 with a one year warranty. A little pricey but it’s a more than handy travel companion nonetheless, and the convenience of carrying fewer chargers is priceless!
