AIFF gets Rs 2000 crore bid for ISL: Firms in race, amount offered, tournaments included - all you need to know
Indian football is set to get a big boost as the commercial rights for ISL, Federation, Indian Women's League and its second tier are set to be finalised by Sunday.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is set to get a commercial partner for Indian domestic football with three bidders in race across men's and women's football. After a long crisis, Indian football is now heading towards a new era with money set to trickle in with a new partner set to come on board.
The federation had opened the bidding for the commercial right of the Indian Super League, Federation Cup (formerly called Super Cup) and Indian Women's League and Indian Women's League 2 on Friday. The bids were submitted for a 15-year term with a provision for an additional five-year extension, with the bidder having the right of first refusal. There is also five percent annual increase included. The cycle for these bids will begin from next season onwards.
The board received a couple of bids for the men's domestic competitions while only one bid came up for the women's leagues. Below we take a look at what these firms have offered to the AIFF for these rights.
Genius Sports
The biggest bid came from Genius Sports who have offered to put in Rs 64.4 crore annually which amounts to almost Rs 2130 crore over the period of 20 years.
Founded in 2016, Genius Sports is a data and technology firm which provides services to sports leagues across the world. It has a strong portfolio being the official data feed provider for the English Premier League, the Championship, and the Scottish league. It also provides technology for the National Football League (NFL), FIBA and the Japan B.League.
Genius Sports have made the highest bid for the rights by a fair margin.
FanCode
FanCode also bid to be the commercial partner for the top-level men's competitions in Indian football. The firm offered around Rs 36 Crore for the first season and a total of around Rs 1190 crore for the duration of 20 years.
FanCode is a sports-focused over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform which already has the media rights of the Indian Super League. Part of Dream Sports group, FanCode has a wide array of sporting tournaments on its platform. It had won the exclusive global broadcast rights for the truncated 91-match ISL 2025-26 season at a value of approximately Rs 8.62 crore.
Capri Sports
Capri Sports is the dedicated sports division of Indian firm Capri Global. It emerged as the sole bidder for the Indian Women’s League (IWL) and IWL 2. The value for the 20-year contract is expected to be around 160 crore.
Capri Sports own UP Warriorz in the Women's Premier League and also the Sharjah Warriorz in the ILT20. The Bengal Warriors team in the Pro Kabaddi League is also owned by the firm.
When will the winner finalised?
AIFF will finalise the rights holder on Sunday, March 29. Capri Sports will most likely take the women's football leagues. Genius Sports, who have made a bid which is double of its competitor FanCode, is the frontrunner to win the rights for Indian Super League and Federation Cup.
