The Delhi Capitals are introducing an exciting Indian talent in their Indian Premier League 2026 match-up against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Sahil Parakh, a young cricketer, will make his mark tonight after receiving his debut cap and being named in DC's playing XI.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel has confirmed that Sahil will make his debut for the side while announcing the changes in their squad. He will replace Sri Lanka's Pathum Nissanka at the top of the order and will pair alongside veteran Indian cricketer KL Rahul.

Who is Sahil Parakh?

18-year-old Sahil Parakh is a left-handed batter and a part-time leg-break bowler, hailing from Nashik, Maharashtra. He rose to prominence with his performance in the 2024-25 India U-19 series against Australia, scoring a spectacular 109 off just 75 balls.

RCB opt to field first against DC

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the toss and opted to bowl first. Skipper Rajat Patidar said that choosing to chase was a no-brainer as it is a high-scoring venue and intends to keep the Delhi Capitals under pressure.

Patidar also intends to carry the team's momentum into the second half of the tournament. The defending champions remain unchanged.

DC skipper Axar Patel revealed they also intended to chase as the ground dimensions are small, making it the ideal option. Despite coming off a huge defeat to PBKS, the captain sees the positive side of the game and remains mentally strong.

The Capitals named three changes, with Dushmantha Chameera, Kyle Jamieson and debutant Sahil Parakh being included in the playing squad.
