After the glitzy RCB Unbox event, the players departed for Chennai late on Tuesday night aboard a charter plane. They arrived in Chennai in the early hours, but despite this, Kohli was greeted with vociferous cheers as he led the rest of the players out of the airport.

RCB boasts an extensive and passionate fan base, and it is expected to be at an all-time high after the women’s team clinched the WPL title just a couple of days back.

Kohli said that it was his personal dream to experience the joy of lifting an IPL trophy and is committed to be part of the side that achieves this milestone for the first time.

Kohli's RCB will take on MS Dhoni-led CSK on March 22 in what promises to be an electrifying encounter in Chennai.

Batting remains their biggest strength as they have Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli at the top of the order. They then have the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar in the middle order - both players are match-winners on any given day. They also have Cameron Green who will add a lot of depth to the team's middle order. This will also be the final season for Dinesh Karthik as an active IPL player and he will be keen to go out on a high.
