Diplomatic momentum is building as the United States and Iran may resume talks today (April 24). US President Donald Trump has extended the ceasefire without setting a deadline and has signalled that "good news could emerge by Friday," which is today.
Also, a blackout mock drill will be conducted in various areas of Ludhiana and Amritsar in Punjab at 8 pm today.

US-Iran second round of talks?
The United States and Iran are likely to resume talks, it could reportedly be today. Trump's extension of the ceasefire without setting a deadline keeps negotiations open-ended.
Both Trump and sources in Pakistan have indicated that “good news” on renewed negotiations could emerge as early as today, according to a New York Post report.
Officials in Islamabad hinted that ongoing mediation with Tehran could pave the way for fresh negotiations within the next "36 to 72 hours." Responding to a query from the NYP, Trump asserted in a text message, “It’s possible! President DJT.”
Blackout mock drill in Punjab
Following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a blackout mock drill will be held in different areas of Punjab's Ludhiana and Amritsar today at 8 pm.
It's being held to assess Civil Defence's preparedness. From 8 to 8:15 pm, the drill will take place at Pytex Ground in Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar; at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana; and in areas under the Aggar Nagar PSPCL division.
Conference on transitioning away from fossil fuels
The first Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels will occur in Santa Marta, Colombia, from today (April 24) to the 29th. The event aims to identify key barriers to the energy transition, develop solutions, and advance effective execution, according to reports.
