President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on the eve of the 78^th Independence Day on August 14.

She will also inaugurate Amrit Udyan today and the garden will remain open for public viewing from Friday till September 15.

The Allahabad High Court will be hearing Gyanvapi mosque committee’s reply on a plea seeking the ASI survey of the mosque’s ‘wazukhana’.

Last month, the court had granted a month to the committee to file a counter affidavit on the plea challenging a Varanasi court order that refused to direct the ASI to survey the ‘wazukhana’.

The court’s order came on a revision petition filed by Rakhi Singh, one of the plaintiffs in the Shringar Gauri Worshipping suit.

The case comes after the same court disbanded the kingdom’s main opposition political party and banned its former leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, from politics for a decade.

Srettha is accused of violating ethics rules by appointing Pichit Chuenban, a lawyer closely associated with the family of billionaire former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, as a minister.

India’s wholesale price index (WPI) based inflation data will be released today.
