Yesterday, PM Modi accused the Congress of breaking the song under the guise of social harmony, and said it was still following the politics of appeasement.

He cited a letter written by Jawaharlal Nehru to Subhas Chandra Bose claiming that the background of Vande Mataram could antagonise Muslims. He said the letter was written following a protest by Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Lucknow.

A similar debate will also be held in the Rajya Sabha today, with Home Minister Amit Shah leading the discussion, followed by Leader of the House JP Nadda.

Trump to hold rally in Pennsylvania

United States President Donald Trump will hold a political rally in Pennsylvania. According to the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, Trump will speak at Mount Airy Casino Resort, as reported by abc27 News.

The Republican leader's address will focus on inflation and the economy, the party said.

Trump last visited Pennsylvania in July.

Ministry of Aviation calls for meet with all airlines in India

Belgium's Supreme Court to hear Choksi's plea against extradition

The Supreme Court (the court of cassation) of Belgium will hear the fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi's appeal against his extradition today. On October 17, Choksi had challenged before Belgium's top court.

On August 27, 2024, India sent an extradition request to Belgium, depending on the arrest warrants issued by the special court in Mumbai.

Babis said on Thursday that he would move his independent trust business to become the prime minister again.

“I’ve decided to irrevocably give up the Agrofert company, with which I will never have anything to do again, I will never own it, I will have no economic relations with it, and I will not be in any contact with it", Babiš asserted in a video message.
