There is far more in the Ketan Agarwal murder case than meets the eye.

Another deeply unsettling revelation has given the case a dramatic twist. As investigators intensify the probe, they have disclosed one of the startling developments in the wealthy Pune realtor murder investigation.

The police probe has revealed that Ketan's fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, were allegedly already married months before the crime, adding a fresh dimension to the case.

The 26-year-old groom-to-be Ketan died on June 18 after being allegedly thrown from a cliff at Lohagad Fort, Pune, Maharashtra, by his would-be wife, now a key accused, Goyal, and her lover, Chaudhary.

Initially, Goyal thought she could hoodwink the law-and-order system by calling the incident an “accidental slip,” until the police unravelled a “meticulously planned execution” of Ketan.

Siya's 'secret wedding' with lover stands exposed now?

Officials probing the matter have claimed that the prime accused, Goyal, and her lover, the co-accused, Chaudhary, had secretly married four months before Ketan's killing, News18 Marathi reported.

The duo kept their alleged marriage a secret, hiding it from the family because they feared opposition, the police probe reveals.

Police blew the lid off the covert marriage after a close examination of the digital evidence surfaced during the probe.

Investigators retrieved all the call records, location data, chats and internet search history from the accused’s phones. They then scrutinised every digital trail that even left investigators stunned.

While examining the digital data of the past six to seven months, officials reportedly discovered that Goyal and Choudhary were allegedly married four months earlier before the chilling murder of Ketan.

According to authorities, the duo kept their marriage confidential. Following the secret alliance, they conspired to eliminate Ketan, police suspect.

The recovery of deleted mobile data also revealed that both Goyal and Chaudhary communicated in a sign language to evade probe after allegedly hatching the plot to kill Ketan.

Both accused used nicknames and sign language to exchange information.

'Don’t have the courage': Goyal to Chaudhary

According to cops, the heinous plan to kill Pune realtor was in the making for a long time, and the first attempt on his life was made on June 14.

However, Goyal failed to execute the plan because she lost her nerve at the last moment. Following which, she texted Chaudhary saying: "I don’t have the courage to do it, you come too — together we’ll push him off the cliff," the probe revealed.

Police say they then plotted to carry out the killing together on June 18.

Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, also revealed that Goyal pushed his son from the fort on June 14; however, Ketan managed to save himself by grabbing a bush. Goyal then screamed, “Snake, snake”, and went to hug him.

“On June 14, they both went to the fort alone, and Siya pushed Ketan. After the push, Ketan grabbed a bush and escaped. He then began to regain consciousness, realising that he had been pushed and that he had survived. Fearing the secret would be revealed, Siya shouted ‘snake, snake’, and went and hugged him,” the father said.

Goyal cooked up the story of an accident; however, her behaviour tipped off the victim’s sister and family, prompting a deeper probe.

Goyal and Chaudhary have been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a Pune court. Their judicial custody has been extended until July 16 after they had already spent 11 to 12 days in police custody.
