Wish movie review: Disney's animated musical fails to create magic

Well, honestly, it is hard to understand and believe that Wish was 5 years in the making as the plot seems to be a plug-in and plug-out Disney formula.The plot revolves around the kingdom of Rosas, where Asha (Ariana DeBose) an eighteen-year-old clumsy but happy-go-lucky girl, who cares for her people too much. The kingdom is ruled by King Magnifico (voiced by Chris Pine) a sorcerer, where every citizen gives him their wish for safekeeping when they turn 18 and post that they tend to forget what their wish ever was. Then every month he randomly grants the wish of one person.Asha, who applies for the position of sorcerer's apprentice, sees his negative or rather sinister side as when she requests King Magnifico to grant her grandfather Sabo's wish on his 100th birthday, he rejects it citing the reason that his wish is too dangerous for the kingdom of Rosas.Horrified by the truth, a heartbroken Asha along with her baby goat Valentino runs towards her favourite place on the island, a massive tree, looks at the sky and makes a wish. With the force and power of her wish, a star from the sky comes down to help her and the people of Rosas. So, will Asha defeat King Magnifico with the help of this star? For that, you need to watch Wish on the big screen.To be honest, Wish is hampered due to its generic and predictable plot, which has nothing new to offer. Running on the same formula of good beating evil, the songs are forgettable and sometimes slow down the narrative.
