Singer and songwriter Dua Lipa is suing Samsung for $15 million over unauthorized use of her image that has surfaced on social media and created havoc among her fans.

A tweet read- "Dua Lipa files $15 MILLION lawsuit against Samsung alleging the manufacturer used her face to sell TVs without compensation or permission."

Court filing revealed

“Ms Lipa’s face was prominently used for a mass marketing campaign for a consumer product without her knowledge, without consideration, and as to which she had no say, control, or input whatsoever.” It further says, “Ms Lipa did not allow and would not have allowed this use,” the filing stated.

I do not believe a single person exists that choose to buy that TV because the add on display had Dua Lipas face lol.

If a billion dollar company can use your face without permission, imagine what they’ll do to ordinary people. Protecting image rights matters.

Dua Lipa deserves compensation.

The only reason i bought my Samsung tv back in 2019 was this womans face.

It was nothing to do with the tv quality or the price or the features.

If Samsung doesn't think her face sells TVs, then why did they put it on the box? They could have used a picture of a bowl of fruit or a landscape. They chose to print it on a million boxes because her image has value.

Why are people so stupid here? It doesn't matter if the photo helps sell the TV or not. What matters is they used her photo for a commercial product without her permission. She has every right to sue!
