When Aamir Khan shaved off his head after his girlfriend broke up with him: 'It was quite a childish &...'

Mr Perfectionist and megastar of Bollywood, Aamir Khan is always known for getting into the character by changing his physicality and developing the core details. His various looks in films like Dil Chahta Hai,  Mangal Pandey, Ghajini, 3 Idiots and Thugs of Hindostan went viral in no time.

While his bald look in Ghajini was a huge hit, Aamir Khan had shaved off his head long back during the shooting of Ketan Mehta's Holi but it was not for the film. In a throwback interview in Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Aamir revealed that he shaved off his head not for Holi but over a breakup with his girlfriend.

“A lot of people think I shaved my head for the film, when in fact I shaved my head for some other reason all together. I lost a girl I loved; one day she told me she didn’t love me so as a reaction I went and shaved my head off,” said Aamir and laughingly added, “It was quite a childish and immature thing to do but that’s what I did. So when I met Ketan for the film, he asked me, ‘Where’s your hair?!’ I told him ‘Gone with the girl!'”

When noted whether he was an intense love, the actor replied, “Ya I guess so. Sounds like it! She rejected me, we were in a relationship for a fair amount of time. If she felt she didn’t love me or valued me, it was something that I completely respect and till today I respect that decision of hers.”

On the professional front, Aamir Khan will be next seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. He will be seen sharing screen space with Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary in the film. It will be directed by RS Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame and will release during the Christmas weekend in 2024.
