The couple will be getting married on January 3. A day ahead of the grand celebration of the couple’s wedding, the festivities have begun the few videos of which have made their way online.The glimpses doing a round on social media offer a sneak peek into the decorations and lighting at the residence of Aamir Khan. In addition to his wife, his first wife Reena’s house is also decked up with flowers and lights as the parents are all excited for the pre-wedding festivities of their daughter.Notably, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare exchanged rings in September of the previous year. The first move was taken by Nupur who made a romantic proposal to Ira during a sports event and went down on one knee to present the love of his life with a ring.Since then, Ira has been sharing glimpses of pre-wedding ceremonies on Instagram. Recently, the couple celebrated a Maharashtrian Kelvan ceremony for which Ira was dressed in a stunning saree, complemented by the traditional Maharashtrian Nath. The ceremony was attended by Ira’s mother, Reena Dutta, her close friend Mithila Palkar, and the close ones.Earlier, while speaking to News18, Aamir Khan shared insights of her daughter’s love life and said, “Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is – waise toh pet name unka naam Popoye hai — he is trainer, he has arms like Popoye but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy. When Ira was battling depression, he was with her. He is really someone who has stood by her and emotionally supported her. I am happy that they are so happy together. They are very well connected, they really look after each other and care for each other.”As per the reports, the wedding will take place at Taj Lands End in Mumbai, and the families have chosen to celebrate Nupur’s Maharashtrian heritage by holding a traditional wedding. Reports also revealed that Aamir Khan has personally invited his friends and colleagues in the business to the wedding.
