The White Lotus season 4: Ben Kingsley, Max Minghella and Pekka Strang joins cast
The White Lotus season 4 has added Ben Kingsley, Max Minghella and Pekka Strang to its sprawling ensemble cast as filming continues in France.

HBO’s The White Lotus continues expanding its already sprawling ensemble for season 4. Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley, Industry star Max Minghella and Finnish actor Pekka Strang are the latest additions to Mike White’s wildly popular satirical drama, according to a report in Variety.
The trio will reportedly appear in recurring roles as filming continues across France. The upcoming season is set against the backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival, with production taking place across Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Paris.
A Cannes-set season packed with chaos and cinema
Unlike previous seasons that unfolded primarily within a single luxury resort, season 4 is expected to revolve around two rival film productions attending Cannes. Reports suggest one group will stay at a glamorous hotel on the Croisette while another operates from a more secluded hilltop retreat nearby.
The season is also said to satirise French customer service culture, which feels perfectly in line with Mike White’s fascination with privilege, discomfort and social performance.
An increasingly massive ensemble cast
Kingsley, Minghella and Strang now join an already packed cast featuring Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Kumail Nanjiani, Chris Messina, Ari Graynor, Chloe Bennet, Rosie Perez, Heather Graham and Laura Dern among several others.
The season has also remained in headlines following Helena Bonham Carter’s sudden exit from the project shortly after filming began. Reports claimed the departure stemmed from creative differences with creator Mike White, after which Laura Dern joined the series in a newly written role.
Interestingly, this marks yet another major television role for Max Minghella, who recently earned strong reviews for his performance in Industry season 4.
Mike White’s biggest White Lotus yet?
With filming taking place during the real Cannes Film Festival and the cast list continuing to grow at an almost chaotic pace, season 4 already feels like the most ambitious instalment of The White Lotus so far.
The series has steadily evolved from being a sharp resort satire into one of television’s biggest ensemble events, where casting announcements themselves become mini pop-culture moments. And now, with Ben Kingsley joining the madness, season 4 somehow feels even more unpredictable.
