Before Casino Royale was released, many people were of the opinion that the James Bond charm had finally stopped working and the franchise would drastically decline in popularity. Add to this the fact that the selection of a blonde man was not appreciated by a large number of people and you had a situation where most of the people thought Casino Royale was going to be disastrous.[caption id="attachment_2178097" align="alignleft" width="380"]Daniel Craig as James Bond in the Spectre teaser. Casino Royale was a success and established Daniel Craig as the new James Bond in a refreshing avatar. Perhaps the most important reason for this success is that Casino Royale revamped the entire franchise. Rather than portraying an invincible, vodka martini-drinking superspy whose cartoon-like gadgets and cheesy one-liners had become more ridiculous with time, Craig played a Bond who was a human being with weaknesses, complexities and was involved in a gripping plot full of secrets and betrayal.Daniel Craig made James Bond real and human. And that's one of the main reasons he is loved as 007.And this is again what makes the teaser of Spectre, the 24th James Bond movie, a delight to watch. Not once is James Bond seen wearing a tuxedo. Not once does he say any cheesy one-liner or suddenly come out with some quirky gadget.Instead, the Spectre teaser focuses entirely on what looks like a dark and twisted plot with a reference to James Bond's haunting past. For starters, you know things are not looking good for 007 when the first scene in the teaser shows the MI6 building in ruins. In the next scene, Moneypenny tells Bond something about "personal effects they recovered from Skyfall.""You've got a secret...something you can't tell anyone...because you don't trust anyone," Moneypenny says, as some very sinister-sounding music plays in the background. But the most exciting part of the teaser, even more exciting than when Bond shows a ring with the Spectre insignia to someone, is when you see the person who tells Bond, "You're a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr Bond." Let's just say he is a character who played an important role in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. The trailer's last scene shows the sihouette of Christoph Waltz's character saying, "Welcome James. It's been a long time. And finally, here we are."The Spectre teaser is dark and twisted and nothing like the cliches of a typical Bond movie. If the movie is anything like the teaser, it will undoubtedly be an excellent James Bond movie.
